  • Peter the Great religion was Russian orthodox Christianity. he had friends who were catholic and Lutheran and attended a few services in the Lutheran church. Peter the Great and his family are from Moscow, Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic. Peter was a highly intelligent child who showed great enthusiasm in his studies quickly learning to read and write. He requested to learn more about Russian history, heroes and battles. Peter had a large curiosity constantly wanting to learn more, especially about the 'West'; he became a 'professional' in several crafts.

  • 1. 1703 Peter orders the building of a new city to be named St. Petersburg. later on the Europeans will have a new city.

  • 2. In 1722, Peter created a new order of precedence, known as the Table of Ranks. Formerly, precedence had been determined by birth. In order to deprive the Boyars of their high positions, Peter directed that precedence should be determined by merit and service to the Emperor.
  • 3. late 17th century, Peter the Great who is best known for his extensive reforms in an attempt to establish Russia as a great nation. Later on in the history this would cause Russia to be a great nation.
  • Peter the great absolutism was the construction of St. Petersburg. One of the Peter's main goals was to regain access to the Baltic Sea and Baltic trade. In 1700 he started the Northern War with Sweden, which lasted for 21 years. In the course of the war St. Petersburg was founded (1703) in the Neva River delta.
