Storyboard Text

  • Where were the Mayan located?
  • One Mayan Achievement
  • One Mayan Achievement
  • The Mayans lived in Central America. They dominated Central America for about 1200 years.
  • One Mayan Achievement
  • They built many structures, such as: palaces, pyramids and astronomical observatories.
  • The End of the Mayan Civilization
  • The Mayan created many aqueducts and were using them to get running water to the palace or other buildings, without carrying tiny bits back and forth, over and over again.
  • How did the Mayan Civilization come to an end?
  • The Mayan were know for their amazing art. They would use wood, jade, obsidian, and all sorts of items to make sculptures and shapes.
  • Theory 1: Warfare  Theory 2: Disease   Theory 3: Famine Theory 4: Environmental changes/disaster. I think the most disproved one is disease because all of the others have been close to proven and the disease came from monkeys, and monkeys came when almost all Mayans were gone.
  • I think the most likely theory is famine because they used slash and burn a lot so all the nutrients were gone and they had barely any food, which meant that they were slowly starving to death.
