They grow because of photosynthesis and cellular respiration which work together.
These flowers are so pretty!
A light dependent reaction uses sunlight for energy and water and releases oxygen and the light independent reaction uses carbon dioxide and releases glucose. The equation is 6CO2 + 6H2O = C6H12O6 + 6O2.
How does photosynthesis work?
Cellular respiration is the reverse action of photosynthesis. It's how humans and plants turn glucose into energy. It happens in 3 steps, glycolysis, the Kreb's cycle, and the electron transport chain.
So, what is cellular respiration?
The Kreb's Cycle and the electron transport chain happen in the mitochondria of all cells. All 3 steps take glucose and oxygen and turn them into carbon dioxide, water and ATP (energy). The equation is C6H12O6 + O2 = H2O + CO2 + ATP.
How does it work?
I know, science is brilliant!
Wow! That's amazing.
