  • James Madison was the president of the U.S.A. from 1808-1816, and during the war of 1812.
  • The British meade alliances with the Native Americans where they gave the Indians weapons to harm the Americans.
  • The White House was burned to the ground along with attacks on the city. This led to the destruction of Washington.
  • At the bombardment of Fort McHenry Americans stood their ground through only the fort for protection.
  • The Battle of New Orleans was the last battle of the War of 1812. It made Andrew Jackson a war hero, who later became another president of the U.S.A.
  • The biggest effect from the War of 1812 was the huge American industry growth.
