  • I can't believe Lincoln wanted me to fight for the Union, i could never fight against my own people.-General Lee
  • July 1st, evening
  • We've been driving the Yankees through town all day.
  • The union Army formed a three-mile long, fishhook shaped line from cemetery hill and ridge to the base of little round top. Confederates held Gettysburg and stretched a six mile long arc around the union position.
  • July 2nd, daytime
  • General Lee, we shouldn't have done this... its been 3 hours of carnage already!
  • General Robert E Lee made a plan for his confederates to attack both flanks of the union line on cemetery ridge.
  • July 3rd, Pickett's charge
  • Oh no! Almost all my men are dead!
  • General George Pickett's division was decimated during a big frontal assault, known as "Pickett's Charge".
  • More than 50,000 men fell as casualties. It was the bloodiest battle of the American Civil war and was the turning point of the war.
  • That we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain.
  • Gettysburg address would become known as one of the best speeches delivered. It was short yet brilliant.
