Mom, I want to take another dance class in the summer.
Hey guys! I haven't seen you in a while!
You'll be fine
I was better at jazz than any other genre so one day I decided to sign up for my third jazz class just to have some fun. I was already skilled in jazz so this was simply just to learn more and have a good time.
Your grandparents want to come see you in class next week!
Oh wow! I'm really excited and I can't wait to see them!
When I walked in I was excited to see that I knew some of the girls from my old school. I say hi to them while changing shoes and our instructor comes out and starts talking to some of the parents and kids.
You're going to be amazing! Good luck!
I look at my mom nervously because the class was starting and she mouths the words “you’ll be fine”. Some part of me doesn’t believe her but inside I know I will be okay.
As the 3rd class comes to an end and I walk downstairs to find my mom eager to get home she tells me something that makes me feel anxious and excited all at once. She says my grandma and grandpa want to come to my next class to see how I’m doing.
Thursday rolls around and I decide to turn my nerves into excitement. My whole mood had changed, especially compared to last week. I put my shoes on, stretch, warm up, and I’m ready to impress my family.
Leaps were next and as always I felt sick because I had this fear that I might fall and embarrass myself. The first time I ran and then hesitated a bit so my leap was weak and unimpressive. I could feel my teacher’s eyes on me, watching every move I make. I leaped and it felt really good and strong, until I hit the ground.
