  • John Adams was one of our founding fathers; helping create and shape out nation into what it is today. He helped defend the patriots in the revolution, and was one of the founding fathers who signed and drafted the Declaration of Independence. Even if he wasn’t that popular during his presidency and made some poor choices during that time; our country wouldn’t be same great country we know and love today if he hadn’t done what he did for our country, good, or bad.
  • Adams ran against Thomas Jefferson in the election of 1796. They were running against each other to see who would earn the position of being the second president of the United States. Adams won the election by the theee electoral votes. He had 71 votes while Jefferson had 68. Making Adams the second United States President in history.
  • <—Federalist VS. Democratic-Republican—>
  • 71 votes
  • 68 votes
  • During his presidency Great Britain and France were at war.Adams was able to keep The United States from taking part in the war and tried to avoid conflict by not choosing sides. This was great becuse The United States was already in dept due to the revolutionary war and couldn’t afford to take part in another war. The county’s was still new and was still in devolpememt so a war could hurt their chances of further developing and improving the country for the better and getting a war could end up in the county falling apart.
