  • LET HER TRAGEDY BE A LESSONTO YOU ALL
  • MARGIEPOSSESSEDBY THEDEVIL
  • This is the story of the Salem Witch Trials - the mass killings of women accused of practising witchcraft.
  • In 1692, in the town of Salem, Massachusetts, there were some very strange goings-on - believed to bethe work of witches, controlled by the devil.
  • Girls and women were reportedly twitching when being "touched by the devil" and acting paranormally.
  • These women and girls were convicted and hanged or executed, based upon evidence provided by children. There were even two dogs that got executed for the crime of witchcraft!
  • Many terrible killings took place before the governer's own wife was convicted. At this, he finally saw sense and cancelled the arrests, released prisoners and stopped executions.
  • Still, the story of the Salem With Trials is a valuable lesson to be learnt by both adults, teens and children. It reminds us what terrible things fear and confusion can drive us to do - it can even kill us.
