Storyboard Text

  • On December 7, 1941 Japan sprung a surprise aerial attack on the U.s naval base at Pearl harbor.
  • 2,335 military personnel, 2,008 navy personnel, 109 marines, and 218 army personnel were killed in this surprised attack. 2403 in total.
  • After the U.S declares war on Japan Hitler declares war on the U.S because Germany and Japan are allies.
  • December 15, 1944 was the last severe Nazi attack on the allies called "Battle of the bulge". Germany lost the battle due to lack of fuel. This battle was the largest battle fought by the US in World War 2.
  • April 29, 1945 Hitler went to his headquarters in Berlin to his bunker where he committed suicide by swallowing a cyanide capsule and shooting himself, Hitler knew he wasn't going to win the War.
  • August 13, 1945 it was announced that Japan had surrendered to the Allies, ending World War 2. This day has been know as Victory over Japan day (JV Day) every since.
