  • Slaves were forced to exercise to stay in shape, so when they arrive in America many buyers would want them.
  • THE SLAVE AUCTION
  • This is mine! I was here first!

  • Africans were thrown overboard alive in the port of Rio so that slave captains, knowing they could not be sold, would avoid paying import duties on them. They were also thrown over if they tried to  resist  against th white people.
  • FINAL THOUGHTS
  • Something interesting I found was the slave trade being very organized.
  • Slaves were sold at auctions. They were  confined in a yard and at a signal buyers  rushed in and chose the one they liked best.

  • Sometimes the buyer would fight over a healthy looking slave to own. 
  • My thoughts about slavery.
  • Something disturbing I found was Americans thought it was humane to enslave people with different colored skin.
