Storyboard Text

  • Onward my soldiers!
  • I must go to the king to tell him what I saw!
  • Women are not meant to fight in battle!
  • Joan of Arc was, and still is, a huge feminist icon that brought hope to the French during the 100 Years War.
  • I have decided to let you fight in battle
  • Thank you your highness!
  • As a daughter of a peasant, Joan had very little as a child, but was very determined to lead military troops her whole life
  • Onward soldiers!
  • When Joan was a young woman, she would report having strange visions and voices telling her to go to the king and assist him in driving out the English
  • We can do anything we set our minds to!
  • With that, Joan set off to convince King Charles to let her fight in battle. With reluctance, he agreed.
  • Joan quickly became Charles' most charismatic, favored, and feared military leader!
  • Unfortunately, Joan of Arc was captured during an attack on Paris, and was killed by the people who captured her. She is still remembered as a powerful feminist icon today, and inspires many daily
