"Thank goodness you are ok. I have pictures for you to see."
The warm sensation started to intensify and I became more nervous that I might have had internal bleeding. The rest of my body just hurt as a whole. Then as I'm looking through my helmet visor I see a woman.
"Thank you, doctor."
"Don't worry, we are going to get you walking again."
See tells me that she has called and ambulance. Then she tells me the person who caused the accident ran from the scene. She then calls my wife and continues to talk to me til the ambulance arrives.
"I am so bored and have watched everything on tv."
As I was sitting in the emergency room my wife showed me some pictures from the accident. It was at this moment I realized just how lucky I had gotten.
"I am so thankful to be alive, but now I constantly worry about my fate."
From the accident I had a crushed foot that required reconstructive surgery, a broken arm, 8 staples and some stitches and nasty bruises and cuts. I was in a wheel chair for 4 months and unable to use my dominant hand for almost 5.
The 6 months of recovery were not fun and extremely painful from the surgery and everything healing. As I sat in the bed which I did for most of the time I couldn't help but constantly think of how lucky I was.
After a few weeks I got the traffic camera footage. Watching made me realize how easily I could have died. I was extremely lucky. But now all I can feel is I cheated death and he is stalking me.
