Judaism
They contain all the stories and laws that help us to live a good Jewish life
As members of the Jewish faith we regard the Talmud and the Torah as our sacred texts.
Islam
As Muslims we follow the Qur'an. This is a book that was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad 1400 years ago. The Qur'an helps us live pure and fulfilling lives
Christians are taught the importance of moral living early on in their faith journey. Christians are not alone in this search for the good, they are guided by some sacred writings. Theses being, The 10 Commandments, The Great Commandment, and The Beatitudes.
Hinduism
As a Hindu I read the Vedas. This is a large body of religious texts originating in India. The original language it was written in was Sanskrit
The Jewish people follow Moses and the Decalogue. They do not believe that Jesus was the son of God, rather they believe he was a great prophet. Jews have strict food restrictions, their food must Kosher. For example members of the Jewish failth cannot eat shellfish.
Buddhism
The Qur'an is all about empowering all who read it. This faith source contains all of the guidelines to live a just Muslim life. It is written in the Qur'an that all Muslims must eat Halal food. For meat to be considered Halal a prayer must be offered at the time of the animals death.

The Vedas teaches Hindus to pursue the truth, and to accept nothing but the truth. Hindus use the five Yamas to guide them morally. These include being non violent and refraining from stealing.
Buddha's teachings are known as the dharma. He taught us that Kindness, patience, generosity, and compassion were the most important virtues. Buddhists live by all of these and they also cannot kill living things, that is considered taking what is not given.
I'm a Buddhist, I study the 3 sacred texts of Buddhism. The Tripitaka, Mahayana, and the Tibetan Book of the Dead.
