Storyboard Text

  • Shot 7: Wide shot featuring city view
  • Shot 8: Extreme close-up of main character's eye
  • Shot 9: Extreme wide shot of trio
  • The wide shot shows the three main characters standing together looking off into the distance of a beautiful city view. Again, this further portrays the idea of women empowerment as Indie's two friends place their arms on her, showing love and support. Also, this shot helps address the location (a city) which reinforces an urban feel to the audience.
  • Shot 10: Medium close-up shot of main character
  • Here, the extreme close-up shows Indie's eye with a tear rolling down her cheek. This tear suggests sadness and evokes sympathy from the audience. However, when the editing process begins, the tear will have a reverse effect. Therefore, this shot will highlight the pain and hurt she once felt but now, Indie is over the heartbreak and no longer wallows in pain.
  • Shot 11: Low-angle shot of trio
  • I wanted my main character to exhibit independence as well as the message of women empowerment. Therefore, an extreme wide shot is filmed to show Indie walking down a main street in an urban area. With her hands placed in her coat pockets, it further highlights a cool and careless vibe. In addition, her facial expression appears content and this illustrates her happiness over her break-up.
  • Shot 12: Long shot of trio in a city
  • The medium close-up shot shows Indie's happy and relief facial expression as she lip-syncs and regularly makes eye-contact with the audience. Here, this maintains the relationship between her and the audience which is vital in a music video as the audience are drawn in. Furthermore, the focus is concentrated on the main character, as the audience are willing to listen to her story.
  • The following shot is positioned at a low angle which portrays the three female characters as dominant and in control as the audience look up to them. This shot contributes to the important message of women empowerment as the characters appear to look down at the audience. In addition, the different levels of each character give an edgy vibe and add to the modern feel produced in my music video.
  • The final shot of my music video exhibits a long shot of the female trio giggling and chatting as they stand together. Here, the message of women empowerment is further illustrated as the character's support each other, especially the main character positioned in the middle who appears the happiest. Overall, my final shot portrays an inspirational message to my audience.
