Julius Caesar was an amazing military commander and the governor of many provinces.
Julius claimed the Celtic tribes held a threat so he decided to turn them all into a Roman province and started the Gallic War.
After defeating Pompey in a civil war Julius went to Egypt and fell in love with Cleopatra. He helped her defeat the king of Egypt. Then Julius made her queen of Egypt. When Julius returned home he was made dictator of Rome for life.
Caesar accomplished much in his dictatorship. He established colonies and helped a lot with debt in Rome.
Due to his reforms some of the members of the senate conspired against Caesar.
Sixty of the conspirators stabbed Caesar to death in Pompey's theater. Caesar died on the Ides of March.
