  • On May 7, 1915 a U-boat sank the British liner Lusitania without warning 128 out of the 1,198 Americans were killed. Theodore Roosevelt denounced Germany's actions as "murder on the high seas"
  • These propaganda campaigns were designed to whip up support for their side. Information on the propaganda may or may not be correct.
  • The United States got a hold of a note that was written in code from Germany to Mexico stating if Germany and the United states were to go to war that Mexico and Germany would be allies and Germany would help Mexico regain lost territoy.
