  • Smoking cigarettes causes more than 140,000 deaths each year in the US. I should know, I almost died of a heart attack at 53 years old and my husband died of lung cancer.
  • Smoking can cause cancer almost anywhere in your body like pancreas, liver, larynx, stomach, bladder, etc. Smoking can effect bone health. They can also cause stokes.
  • I wish I quit smoking, now I have lung cancer.
  • Yes!! Also, Within 2 to 5 years after quitting smoking, your risk for stroke could fall to about the same as a nonsmoker’s.
  • Quitting smoking cuts cardiovascular risks. Just 1 year after quitting smoking, your risk for a heart attack drops sharply.
