As Chanticleer and his wives slept one evening, a fox watched them, waiting for his cue to attack.
The next morning, Chanticleer lay in the meadow singing and suddenly spots the fox lurking. Frightened, Chanticleer attempts to flee the fox.
Please don't run away! Don't be afraid of me! I am simply just here to lay and listen to your wonderful singing! Please do sing for me, you have the voice of an angel.
Chanticleer, flattered, stretches his neck, closes his eyes, opens his beak and begins to sing. Meanwhile, Sir Russel fox leaps in and grabs Chanticleer by the throat, taking him towards the woods.
The old widow and her daughters notice the fox and Chanticleer headed towards the woods.
After being spotted, all the animals ran after the fox to save Chanticleer.
