Storyboard Text

  • Child labor is when kids under 16 are forced to work long hours with little or no pay. About 1 in 6 children across the world are involved in child labor.
  • Even though child labor laws are in place, in many countries the leaders turn a blind eye because it helps the economy
  • The jobs the kids are working are very laborious. Kids will work hard and get injured. This is wrong because it is forced labor and kids deserve to be kids.
  • Many kids get hurt because of the dangerous environments. Kids can be forced to work with dangerous machinery, harsh weather, and more
  • Many children have died because of the dangerous conditions. About 70% of child laborers work in agriculture. the harsh conditions including pesticides, heavy machinery, and carrying heavy loads are very dangerous.
  • There are laws in place but many times the people in charge don't care. I think big companies that manufacture products in other countries should crack down on the child labor as a start. World leaders should also actually enforce the laws.
