Storyboard Text

  • Susie, left unattended by her parents, wandered into the laundry room and spotted a colorful jar.
  • Susie plucked out a tide pod and thought it looked like candy. She bit into it and swallowed some of the detergent from inside.
  • Susie suddenly began to feel very sick to her stomach. She was also sweating heavily. Susie knew something was wrong so she began to cry for her parents.
  • When Susie's parents arrived, they noticed she was slipping in and out of consciousness.
  • Luckily, Susie wasn't allergic to the tide pod, so no anaphylactic shock occurred.
  • Gertrude called 911 instead of PCC  because Susie wasn't completely responsive. 911 told her to monitor Susie's breathing and level of consciousness.
  • Alfonso also made sure to keep Susie's airway open.  Even though Susie claimed she was hungry, Alfonso did not give her any food or drink.
  • Alfonso and Gertrude kept Susie calm and awake until EMS arrived and treated Susie's sickness at the hospital.
  • After the incident, Alfonso and Gertrude make sure to keep the laundry room door locked.
  • They also put their detergents on high shelves and have special child-proof containers for all hazardous items.
