Early man did not know how to make fire, build shelter, or hunt very well. They had a lot to learn in order to survive.
As soon as they started to develop tools they were able to build better shelter and hunt more efficiently. Once they learned how to make fire, they used it to cook and to keep warm.
The men hunted animals for food and trade. They used tools such as knives, spears,and arrows. Later they came up with snares and traps to hunt with as well.
The woman gathered fruits, nuts, and seeds for food and trade. They also gathered bark, leaves, sticks, and other thing to be made in to tools and shelter.
Finally they started to farm, grow crops, and domesticate animals. These advancements gave them a surplus that allowed them to trade with people that had what they need.
They became communities that worked together - they each had there own job to do to be a productive tribe. Religion was a big component of tribal life.
