Storyboard Text

  • Self- Sacrifice
  • I volunteer as tribute!!
  • Role Model
  • Determined
  • When Katniss Everdeen hears her sister's name called at the reaping, she is quick to volunteer. She knows that when she goes to the games, there is a big possibility that she could end up dead. However, Katniss wants Prim to live a semi-normal life. Once she takes a liking to someone she does everything in her power to protect them even if she has to give up her life in return for their safety and well-being.
  • Kind
  • Tuck in your tail little duck
  • When Katniss's father died, she saw her family facing starvation and she had to begin to provide as the sole breadwinner for her family. Her mother was unable to take care of her children as she was falling into a depression of sorts. Without Katniss stepping up, the family would have died. Her sister looks up to her because of this. Katniss is the oldest of two children and she knows that with every move she makes and evry breath she takes, Primrose is looking up to her to be her guide.
  • Brave
  • Miss Everdeen volunteered in the place of her sister for the annual Hunger Games. When Primrose came to say goodbye she told Katniss that she needs to win the games. Katniss became determined to win the Hunger Games after her sister's comment so she could come back to her family and resume her life almost as if the games never happened. Primrose Everdeen is a very key part in the Katniss we know today. At a young age, Katniss was forced to take care of Prim and her mother, something no young child should have to go through.
  • Demanding
  • Katniss Everdeen can sometimes come off as an angry person, however, when it comes to her sister, she is the kindest person. Katniss always seems to know what to say and do when it comes to comforting her sister. Katniss would do anything to ensure her sister's survival. She hunts many long hours to have food on the table. Katniss always puts her sister's needs in front of her own.
  • Katniss demonstrates bravery in many circumstnaces. After she volunteers as tribute, she knows that she has to have a joyous look displayed on her face at all times fo the public to see. Although, she doesn't exactly feel confident, she has to put on a brave act.  The public also immediately took note of her once she volunteered in the place of her sister for a game where she is forced to either kil everyone and win or be killed and lose the games and her life. Katniss know what in order to protect her sister, she has to volunteer.
  • Katniss is a very reserved person who doesn't open up to many. She doesn't come off as a very kind and open person, however, once she becomes attached to someone she tends to put a lot of her time and energy into helping them.  She has never agreed with the leadership qualities of The Capitol and since she volunteered, she has been more upfront about these frustrations. Katniss does not believe that putting kids in an arena and making them fight to their death should be an entertainment option for The Capitol and the Districts.
