Casco Bay Project
Fish were everywhere back in the day, there were more cod than people.
Fishermen fished and fished and fished until there were barely any fish.
That's because there were little to no regulations. So they would make lots of money.
All of a sudden there was a small population of cod.
Regulations came, but they were too late. The cod population is now at a point where no one is sure if it will ever come back.
For us fishermen, all these rules and regulations have made us poor. The quota is too small, we have to buy all these expensive nets, and we aren't making money.
