Annemarie hid Ellen's necklace during the war so no one would find it. When the war ends Annemarie get the necklace out from where she hid it but it was broken. She asks her dad if he can fix it and he does. Annemarie shows friendship to Ellen by wearing the Star of David necklace until Ellen returns.
