  • Searching for Evidence
  • Separation witnesses is the next priority. witnesses must not be allowed to talk to each other.Their accounts of events will be compared. This separation is done to avoid witnesses working together to create a collusion. These kids were witnesses to the crime. They have to give their report.

  • The officer takes out his lens and starts to search for evidence on the crime scene. He uses the grid pattern to search. The use of flashlight for examination is useful because this method avoids picking up extraneous materials.
  • The officer has found the knife used at the crime scene. He will have to package this evidence. It can be placed in a plastic bag then put in a container. It is then sealed with tape and labeled with the signature of the collector. An evidence log and chain of custody document must be attached to the evidence container.
