How to convert percentage from a fraction or a decimal

- In order to convert a fraction to a percentage, you need to change the denominator to 10, 100, or 1000
- 2/5 = 4/10
- 4/10 = 40/100 = 40%
- Once that is done, depending on the number you multiply or divide. So for this example, we have 4/10 and we need to get that to 100. So if we multiply the numerator and denominator by 10 we get 40 over 100 which is 40%
- If you round it down to one, you need to multiply both by 100 to get the answer. IF you round up to 1000, you need to round back down by dividing by 10
- 0.25 = 25%
- Now, if you need to convert a decimal to a percentage, it needs to be in the hundredths place, or two places to the right of the decimal
