Decomposition -one substance breaks down into two or more substances - AB --> A+B
Most of the decomposition reactions require heat, light, or electricity to decompose
Single Replacement - one element replaces another element in a compound - AB + C --> AC + B
Metal replaces metal, and non-metal replaces non-metal
Double Replacement -the positive ion o f one compound replaces the positive ion of another compound - AB + CD --> AD + CB - Precipitate-- an insoluble compound that can come out of a solution during double replacement
So everyone is confused on why this six year old kid is so interested in chemistry. To be honest, its pretty cool once you get into it. Its probably also because I'm teaching it.
Combustion -a reaction where something reacts with oxygen -also known as burning - Cx Hx + O2 --> xH2O + xCO2 - (x is a variable)
Thanks Mom! I cant wait to hear more about the amazing other sciences there are!
Haha- no problem, Jack. Ill tell you more later- right now you need to sleep.
