  • He has killed me, mother.
  • Ross Comes to England and Delivers the Tragic News to Macduff
  • Dispute it like a man!
  • I shall do so, But I must also feel it as a man.
  • Macbeth visits the 3 witches and demands that they answer his questions. The three witches create three apparitions for Macbeth to see. The first apparition, an armed head, warns Macbeth of Macduff. The second apparition, a bloody child, declares no man born from woman can harm Macbeth. Lastly, the third apparition, a crowned child, states Macbeth should not fear until the forest moves. Macbeth gives into his impulses and states how he will kill Macduff's family since he has been warned of him.
  • Lady Macbeth Sleepwalks and Hallucinates Duncan's Blood (Catharsis)
  • After Macbeth sees the three apparitions, he sends murderers to Macduff's castle to execute all his family. Macduff's son is stabbed as Lady Macduff witnesses his murder. As their final act, the murderers set the castle on fire, killing everyone there.
  • Malcolm & the English Army Come to Dunsinane to Overthrow Macbeth (Agnorisis)
  • As I did stand my watch upon the hill, I looked toward Birnam, and anon methought The wood began to move.
  • As Ross leaves Scotland, Malcolm and Macduff supervise the English troops. Ross arrives in England and announces how Macduff's family has been tragically murdered due to Macbeth. Malcolm advices Macduff to turn his grief into anger like a real man would. Ultimately, the killing of Macduff's family causes Macduff and Malcolm to be full of rage as they prepare to murder Macbeth. Since Macbeth has killed many, the English army will now kill Macbeth.
  • Macduff fights Macbeth as Macbeth Dies (Downfall)
  • Hail, King! for so thou art. Behold where stands Th' usurper's cursed head. The time is free.
  • As Lady Macbeth lacks sleep, the regret behind Duncan's murder haunts her soul. Lady Macbeth starts the play as a manipulative and controlling wife over Macbeth. Now, the small portion of humanity left in her is shown as she feels guilt over Lady Macduff and Banquo. The representation of humanity in her sleep walking causes the audience to feel sorrow and pity for her. The audience experiences catharsis, emotional cleansing, as they see Lady Macbeth suffer.
  • Out, damned spot, out I say!!
  • What a sight is there!
  • The English Army arrives to Dunsinane disguised using the woods of Birnam. Seeing the forest move, Macbeth realizes the Third Apparition has become true. With this realization, Macbeth's agnorisis, recognition of human fate, shows him how the prophecies have all become true. Macbeth knows now that he cannot win against the English army and his tragic flaws have caused his soon death.
  • "Fear not till Birnam Wood Do come toward Dunsinane," and now a wood Comes toward Dunsinane.
  • Macduff, Malcolm, Siward, and the rest of the English army arrive at Macbeth's castle. Macbeth challenges any soldier not born of woman since no man born of woman could hurt him. Macduff announces how he was ripped from his mother's womb (C-Section). Hearing this, Macbeth realizes the Second Apparition has become true as he fights Macduff. Macbeth's downfall occurred as a result of the English army but most importantly due to his own flaws. This downfall causes the audience to feel pity for Macbeth and fear that they will have their own downfall.
