Storyboard Text

  • Junior has been suspended for a week for smashing Mr.P in the face with an ancient book. It was an accident as he wanted to hit something not somebody. When he was sitting on the porch one week through suspension when Mr.P walked up the driveway...
  • Sure
  • Can I sit here?
  • When Junior apologised for the injury he caused, Mr.P apologised for his suspension and said that it was not his idea. Mr. P then asked Junior why he hit him with the ancient book. Junior explained to him that it was an accident and he had no intentions of hurting him
  • You killed Indians?!
  • I forgive you. When I first started teaching here we were taught to kill the Indian to save the child.
  • It was just a saying. We were supposed to make you give up being an Indian
  • Rowdy is my best friend and he protects me and yes I know that he is abused by his father
  • Mr. P then tells Junior that he has to leave Rez forever. He explains that all the Indians have given up and they all deserved to be smashed in their face too. He says that Junior has hope somewhere inside him and that is the reason why he hit Mr.P with the ancient book. Mr.P also said that he had to take his hope and go to a place where people have hope as well
  • You know that rowdy is abused by his father right?
  • When Junior's parents arrived, he asked them who has the most hope. After sometime, they replied that the white people had the most hope
  • Shoot, I figure that my fellow tribal members are going to torture me.
  • I want to go to Rearden tomorrow. If I do not go now, I never will
  • But the Indians are going to be angry with you
  • okay
  • The next day in school...
  • I’m transferring to Reardan and I want you to come with me
  • When Rowdy yelled at Junior, both of them started crying. Then, Rowdy started to scream in pain
  • I don’t even drive through that town. What makes you think I want to go. You are making me mad
  • Junior then knew that his best friend become his worst enemy
  • When Junior touched Rowdy's shoulders again, Rowdy hit Junior and walked away
