Aeneas and his men arrive at the Tiber River where they have a feast. By eating the feast, Aeneas and his men fulfill the prophesy saying that they would "eat their platters." This prophesy says that when they eat their platters, they have arrived at their destination.
When Aeneas offers gifts to the King Latinus, Latinus offers his daughter, Lavinia, to be Aeneas's wife as a "peace treaty." However, Aeneas did not know that a neighboring king, King Turnus, wanted to marry Lavinia and would be very mad if he didn't.
