How Katherina changes throughout the play
The Taming of the Shrew was set in Italy. This storyboard illustrates the change in Katherina over the 5 acts of The Taming of the Shrew.
In the beginning of the play Katherina is known as a shrew. She is a bad-tempered woman who gives the men a piece of her mind.
When Katherina first meets Petruchio he is really rude and insulting to her. She is surprised by this and soon realizes that she shouldn't be treating other people this way.
On Katherina and Petruchio's wedding day, Petruchio arrives late and dressed crazily. Katherina is embarrassed. He treats her horribly and forces her to leave the wedding early. Katherina isn't happy and realizes Petruchio doesn't love you.
By the end of the play Katherina realises theat she needs to change her attitude and be nicer to people.
She feels ashamed at the way he acted and spoke to people. Petruchio helped her realise this. She is no longer a shrew.
