Storyboard Description

The myth of Icarus and Daedalus and how Icarus got too close to the sun.

Storyboard Text

  • The king of Crete was named Minos and he was very cruel. Daedalus and his son worked for him and the king asked Daedalus to make an impossible maze.
  • After Daedalus made the maze he was frightened by why the maze was made. A beast was to be put into the maze and the beast fed on human flesh. Daedalus and Icarus became frightened of the Kings idea so they thought of leaving the island.
  • Daedalus and Icarus wanted to leave but were locked away in a high tower in the hopes that they would never leave Crete. Daedalus thought of ways to save them and studied the birds and realized that he could make wings to fly away from the tower and so he did.
  • Though they both had flown away from the tower, Icarus was so prideful in the ability that he could fly and he wanted to fly higher even though Daedalus told him not to. He soon realized why he shouldn't have gone too close to the sun.
  • Icarus's wings started to melt and he sbegan to fall.
  • Daedalus watched Icarus fall to his death in the shark and monster infested waters and wept on the shore.
