Storyboard Text

  • Ugh! It is not proper for a man to wear a dress. Besides I have a beard.
  • Gutta, I want you to put on these clothes. I want you play the part of Vilbia. It is necessary for us to fool Modestus, who I expect shortly.
  • That is very little importance because we are in darkness. Surely you are able to persuade?
  • Look! I give you ten denarii. Now be silent! Put on the dress and cloak! Stand near the spring of the goddess! When Modestus approaches the spring say nice words to him.
  • Scene 3: Bulbus and Gutta entered the baths by night silently. They are hiding near the sacred spring. Bulbus showed the dress and cloak which he brought himself to Guatta.
  • Vilbia, my Vilbia! Modestus, the bravest soldier, arrives.
  •
  • Oh, my darling come to me!
  •
  • How harsh your voice is! Are you crying because I arrive late?
  • Gutta, after he unwillingly put on the dress, stood near the spring. Modestus, having entered the baths alone, approached the spring.
