  • Catalonia, a Spanish state North- East of Madrid, is now fighting the Spanish govt. for separation from the rest of Spain.
  • "We want to leave!"
  • Spain was ruled by Francisco Franco, the dictator at the time. He lead Spain into a big civil war, which caused Spain's nationalism to die down.
  • "We don't support our country!"
  • Now that the Catalans want to part from the rest of Spain, the Spanish people are coming together and bringing back nationalism.
  • After the dictatorship of Francisco Franco, and the civil war, Nationalism, but ironically, the seperation of Catalonia is bringing unity and nationalism back in Spain.
  • However, despite the fact that Spain as feeling more united, Catalonia and the government are not. A poll held in Barcelona, Spain, and even multiple rallies have been shut down.
  • "We're shutting you down!"
  • After the poll held in Barcelona, Spain, the people of Catalonia began rally. The government did not like this and began to fight back.
  • "Let us separate!"
  • "Go home!"
  • "We want to leave!"
  • The two groups of nationalistic Spaniards are fighting against each other for two different reasons: separation and unity. 
  • "Stay with us!
