Storyboard Text

  • The Chinese nationalists destroyed our railway tracks near Mukden!!! Let's use this as an excuse to invade Manchuria and get payback!
  • The 11,000 Japanese soldiers took over Manchuria easily because the Chinese Government wanted to focus their efforts on fighting the communists.
  • After the Japanese takeover in Manchuria, the Chinese went to the League of nations for help.
  • Let's get the Japanese to withdraw their troops. We can establish a committee to investigate both sides
  • And thus the Lytton  Commission was formed!! It was headed by V. A. G. R. Bulwer-Lytton and included Major General Frank Ross McCoy (US), Dr. Heinrich Schnee (Germany), Count Aldrovandi Marescotti (Italy), and General Henri Claudel (France)
  • The Lytton Commission spent six weeks in Manchuria in spring 1932 on a fact-finding mission, after meeting with government leaders in the Republic of China and in Japan
  • We can conclude that Japan did have interests and the use of the army was unjustified, they should give up territory, Manchukuo can not pass as a state and Manchuria should become independent
