  • Hmmm...
  • Today we will be learning: Newton's 3 Laws of Motion
  • Ok class! Today we will be learning about Newton's 3 Laws of motion.
  • YASSSS!!
  •  Newton's first law is pretty simple. It suggests if an object is at rest or in motion then that object will stay in rest or in motion, in a straight line, unless acted upon another force. This is often referred to as "Inertia".
  • A very clear example is a School Bus. When the bus is in motion no force will stop the bus from moving forward except friction (the brakes) and gravity. The only thing that will get the bus moving again is the engine's force moving the wheels around.
  • Newton's second law is a little more tricky. This law explains how the speed (Velocity) of and object will change when an external force is applied. The very common equation for this is F=m*a. Newton also stated force to be equal to change in momentum.
  • So cool how the velocity of the ball is changing when she applies force by kicking it!
  • Hey! Bet you can't beet me in a game of push-o-war. It's like tug-o-war but the opposite...You get what I mean!
  • ???
  • You're so on!
  • This is the perfect moment to teach them about Newton's third law.
  • Here, Newton's third law explains how for every force or action, there is always an equal and counteractive force. For example, if the force at which these two boys are pushing the box on either side is equal in weight, then the box will stay put. However if one of the boy's forces gets even the slightest stronger, the box will start to move in that direction.
  • Why isn't the darn thing moving?
  • Like the teacher said, we both have the same amount of strength!
  • Today we will be learning: Newton's 3 Laws of Motion
  • SO COOL!
  • I'm so glad you kids learned so much about motion and how it works all the time in your lives!
  • We sure are too!
