  • A political party called The National Party. In 1948 they gained control of South Africa and made it a all white imparliment
  • Recovery
  • The National Party put many restrictions on non-whites. South Africans of all races protested against the apartheid . An organization called the ANC was set up to fight against white domination.
  • 
  • The ANC kept protesting the government did not like these protests and reacted violently to them. They were also protesting peaefully
  • 69 blacks were killed were killed at the protest. Nelson Mandela was arrested and still lead the ANC in jail for more than 25 years. people all over the world demanded that Mandela should be released and eventually he was released and held peace and in 1993 was the first election of all races and Nelson Mandela was voted president for the new democratic South Africa.
  • Nelson Mandela created peace in South Africa when he became the first president of the new democratic government of all races. The apartheid also ended in 1990. Nelson Mandela also resigned to the ANC
