I'm moving to NY next month and need to find a roommate.
I'm looking to move to Brooklyn, and hoping to find a roommate. I just moved here from Ohio and don't know too many people.
I'm worried, I don't really know anyone but want to live with someone I can atleast get along with and trust.
Why don't you try Roommate? It's a new app my friend just told me about. He used it and really liked it.
Good idea, I'll give it a try
I'll signup for Roommate and see if I can find anyone in my extended network who meets my preferences.
1. Signup through Facebook or Google (The app will only show you Friends of Friends who match your preferences) 2. Profile Setup (Basics): Age, Housing Location, Gender, Occupation, religion (optional), sexual orientation (optional), upload 6 photos 3. Profile (Details): Level of...cleanliness, time spent at apt, visitors expected, companionship from roommate, desire price range, alcohol/drugs 4. Define Desired Roommate (Roommate preferences): Define and level of importance to you...gender, cleanliness, time spent at apt, visitors expected, companionship from roommate, sexual orientation, religion (ex. keeps Kosher kitchen) 5. Submit, shows preview of what others will see 6. Roommate presents you potential options who are friends of friends (connected through FB or Google.
7. You scroll through and "like" the Roommate options of your liking 8. Once two people both "like" each other, you get Level 2 Access (chatting functionality, full name, access to social media photos if user allows) 9. Lucy and Erin match and start chatting on the platform...they have 3 mutual friends and are able to connect. 2 weeks later, they meet and decide to find an apt together!
