  • This is context because it gives us a little backstory about Piggy and why he is such a sissy. This also shows a deeper meaning behind Piggy rather than saying that he can't swim, he gives us a glimpse into his past which is context.
  • This is symbolizing because the conch symbolizes order on the island. This is important because later in the book. Ralph uses the conch to call the meetings, and he is a leader that the boys look up to.
