Hello! My name is Harry Hess and I am a navy officer. Therefore, I can use sonar to map the ocean floor and find out where the mid ocean ridges are.
I need to publish a book to tell people about seafloor spreading!!!
Seafloor spreading is the forming of new oceanic crusts that develop through the mid ocean ridge.
Mid Ocean ridges are underwater mountain ranges formed by plate tectonics.
My name is Alfred Wenger. I have determined that the continents fit together like puzzle pieces. Hmmm, I think I am going to name that super continent, Pangea!
The climate is changing! There used to be glaciers here but now it is way too hot for them to ever be here. This is happening because of continental drift.
This mountain range ends here, on this continent, but if you go east, across this ocean to the next continent, you will find that the mountain range will pick back up. We know this because the mountains have matching rock patterns that tell us that they were once connected.
