VE-Day - May 8, 1945 - The full and unconditional surrender of Germany, marking the end of WW II in Europe, but the true end has yet to come.
Island Hopping - Leapfrogging - A technique used by the allies when against the axis powers, but mainly used against Japan.
Hiroshima and Nagasaki - Taking place on August 6, 1945 and August 9, 1945, respectively, they events that lead to VJ-Day. America employs first use of Nuclear bombs.
VJ-Day - August 15, 1945 - The full surrender of Japan, and the official end of WW II.
