Storyboard Text

  • Homefront - During the war, men were the ones to go into battle, while the women stayed behind. Women were the ones that stepped for jobs up during the absence of men, and did quite well.
  • We Can Do It!
  • D-Day - June 6, 1944 - The largest seaborne invasion to date. This depicts the Allied assault against Normandy
  • VE-Day - May 8, 1945 - The full and unconditional surrender of Germany, marking the end of WW II in Europe, but the true end has yet to come.
  • Island Hopping - Leapfrogging - A technique used by the allies when against the axis powers, but mainly used against Japan.
  • Hiroshima and Nagasaki - Taking place on August 6, 1945 and August 9, 1945, respectively, they events that lead to VJ-Day. America employs first use of Nuclear bombs.
  • VJ-Day - August 15, 1945 - The full surrender of Japan, and the official end of WW II.
