  • No battles were fought during the cold war. The U.S.A and Soviet Union had tension over different ideas and beliefs which eventually led to the cold war in 1947. 
  • The U.S was worried of the rapid growth of communism and the USSR knew the U.S. has nuclear weapons.
  • When the U.S. refused to share nuclear secrets tension became stronger.
  • The USSR's need for a secure western boarder made the U.S. nervous.
  • When the USSR's plan for world communism became more real the United States said they would take nuclear action if needed.
