  • The Selective Service Act in t1917 called around 24 million work to register in order to fight the war. The government had to call for people as well as create propaganda as a way to influence people. 
  • Effects for US Women
  • During the War, the War Industries Board was in charge of setting certain boundaries of how industries should work. Also since the War increased the production of many materials, it opened new job opportunities.
  • Effects for US Immigrants
  • After WW1 the socialists got affected because of the economy. The Great Depression meant that the socialists got to experience what Social Darwinism could do to the country.
  • Effects for African-American
  • The need for more weaponry and materials opened many jobs that men were not sufficient to fill all the jobs therefore allowing women to work. The war also allowed women to vote. 
  • During WW1, immigrants in the United States increased meaning that the definition for race had to be expanded. Due to this several laws had to be pass in order to prevent the entering of immigrants. 
  • The war attracted many Afro American citizens to the United States. There were mostly received in the Northern part meaning that the nation got reshaped.
