Position: Oedipus is not king of Thebes, and has been given the widowed Queen Jocasta as his wife, which shows where he is in life, his position.
Tragic Flaw: Oedipus's characteristic of being irrational is what creates him to fufill his unwanted destiny, which makes it a tragic flaw.
Reversal: Beacuse of Oedipus's hamartia of being irrational, it caused him to fufill his prophecy of killing his father and marrying his mother.
Recognition: Oedipus realizes the truth, and repents.He stabs out his eyes, for he believes he shouldn't see anymore. He believes in getting his fair punishment, and resigns as king to live alone in the mountains .
