  • I proclaim that the church Is doing atrocious deeds!
  • So I shall nail the  churches misdeeds to the door!
  • 95 These
  • The churched is corrupt, we need to make a new one!
  • YEAH!
  • We should hold a council.
  • We need to do something about all the people leaving!
  • The year is 1517, Martin Luther is furious at the corrupt church so he decides to make a list of wrongs of the church. The next day he walks to the front of Wittenburg Castle church and nails that paper to the front doors.
  • We have to fix the church from the inside to bring everyone back!
  • After Martin Luther posted the paper of the churches wrongs they went viral by the printing press. Martin, rather than fixing the church, decide to break away from the church and created the Protestant church.
  • The church started to panic. Many people were turning to the Protestant church and other denominations for guidance. They needed to do something to legitimize the catholic church, fast.
  • Sola Scriptura means only scripture, where you belive everything the bible says.

  • Sola  Fide means only faith, a justification to everything with only faith.
  • The church had the Council of Trent in 1545 to discuss how they could fix the church. The main points were to clearly define the teaching of the church, address abuse and corruption, and regulate training of priests.
  • There are many differences between the protestant church such as their leaders. The Protestant church believes in Sola Scriptura but the Catholics believe in scripture plus tradition. The protestant church also doesn't believe in purgatory.
  • One way to distinguish a catholic from a Protestant is to see if they believe in sola Scriptura and Sola Fide. Protestant believe In Sola Scriptura and Sola Fide.
