The monetary unit is the means of money. It is how we store and exchange in the U.S. Let us take a look at the characteristics of money.
Commodity money is money that has value from the products in which it is made. For example gold Spanish coins or silver Mexican dollars.
Representative money is objects that have value and are exchanged for goods such as gold, silver, tabacco and grains.
Fiat money is money that the government that gives value to the money.
