Storyboard Text

  • The Myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, Jack Chandler
  • Orpheus was playing his music through the forest when he met a beautiful tree nymph named Eurydice! His beautiful music had awoken Eurydice form her deep slumber.
  • "I am Eurydice and this is my tree."
  • Orpheus's Home
  • Eurydice and Orpheus fall in love and settle down in a nice home. Together, they live and have fun!
  • Eurydice's Death
  • Eurydice goes to play in the jungle because something inside her is calling. She is walking through the forest and is bitten by a snako. Orpheus finds her and is heartbroken, he longs to be with her again,
  • The River Styx
  • Orpheus goes to the underworld to charm Hades with his beautiful music and bring back Eurydice. The only way to get there is to cross the river with the help of the fairy man (Charon). Orpheus bribes Charon and he agrees to take him to Hades.
  • Hades you must listen!
  • The deal
  • Please hades let her go!
  • The souls of the dead
  • Orpheus's Fate
  • Hades agrees but only under his terms. He states that she can leave but only if Orpheus doesn't turn back and look at her. When he is almost to the end Orpheus calls Eurydice's name, she doesn't respond so he turns around to see if she is there. Since he turned back she must go back to the underworld. Eurydice's fate is sealed.
  • Eurydice
  • Orpheus meets Hades and asks for him to allow her back. Hades does not budge. Persephone, after hearing his beautiful music pleads to Hades to let Eurydice to go.
