  • Please only take your paper and pencil to the lab. Today we are going to be working with chemicals and extreme temperatures.
  • Lab Safety Symbols for today:                                                                                                               
  • The teacher explains the rules on the board and gives students instruction sheets.
  • 1. Follow all insructions 2.Report any spills or accidents 3.Wear gloves, goggles, and aprons when working with extreme temperatures and chemicals
  • Just as Jack reaches for the glass beaker, Clarence tells him to put on his safety gloves.
  • Step one, bring chemical one to a light boil
  • Put on your safety gloves, you are working with chemicals and a hot fire. Remember, wearing safety gloves is all in your hands.
  • After Jack puts on his safety gloves he continues working on his lab.

  • The left symbol is the chemical symbol. When you see that symbol it means there are going to be chemicals involved. You need to wear goggles, gloves, and an apron when working with chemicals.

  • The right symbol is the extreme temperature symbol. It means there will either be very hot or cold objects involved. You need to wear gloves, goggles, and an apron. Remember, wearing safety gloves is all in your hands.
