Storyboard Text

  • So Mrs.Alsina you're saying that there are 3 steps in solving proportions? OMG! My head might explode....
  • There are a couple ways to solve proportions like: Set-up & solve a proportion equation, Finding the Unit Rate & Graphing.
  • Yes! The 3 steps are: Apply cross multiplication, Make an equation & Solve for x.
  • Can you give me an example problem with the answer?
  • The problem written out is twelve over one equals fourty-two x.Twelve x equals fourty-two.X equals fourty-two.
  • To check your answer you'd have to substitute the value in the original problem & take cross products.
  • 12/1=42/x 12x=42 x=42
  • I kinda get it now. So all I have to do is do cross multiplication, make the equation & solve for X?
  • Now angelique try to do some example problems on your own.
  • Ok Mrs.Alsina, i'll try my best. Even though i'm kinda confused on these proportion problems.
  • Thank you for helping me master proportions Mrs.Alsina I know that we need to solve for x and in order to do it I need to cross multiply.
  • You're welcome angelique, and have a good night and remember," Never discuss infinity with a mathematician. You'll never hear the end of it! Haha lol
  • Oh I love proportions...
