this is Troy a wealthy city east of Aegean Sea
Troy is in Asia Minor and what is today Turkey. Troy was a large, beautiful, and Fortified by high, strong walls and towers.
In 1200 B.C Troy was governed by King Priam and his wife Hecuba. They had more than 50 kids. One night Hecuba had a terrible dream. She gave birth to a flaming torch. The torch would burn down the city of Troy.
After recounting her dreams to her husband they decided to consult to the wise men of the city, or prophets . The prophets thought the dream was a future picture, and that killing the baby at birth would prevent this destruction of Troy.
King Priam knew he had to listen to the prophets but he couldn't face killing disown baby, so he asked his chief herdsman, Agelaos to do it for him and bring back a tongue as proof he killed Paris.
Agelaos went to the mountain but couldn't kill Paris. So he left the baby on the mountain slopes, where surely he was to be killed by wild animals. But when he got there the next day Paris was still there and he though this was a sign from the gods that he should keep Paris for his own.
In order to trick King Priam into thinking Paris was dead, Agelaos killed a wild dog and brought back the dogs tongue as proof. Then Agelaos raised Paris as his own son, hunt and tend herds.
